Welcome Elijah Goldstein!
We are thrilled to welcome the newest member of our faculty, Elijah Goldstein! He will be teaching Piano and Theory (Rudiments). Elijah has an amazing history with our school, so let us tell you about him!
Elijah was actually a ToMA student 10 years ago! What began as an intermediate piano transferring to us quickly blossomed into a deep and meaningful relationship with music. Studying piano with ToMA co-founder Ida Neufeld, along with theory and harmony with David Stone, Elijah discovered he had a wealth of ability and knowledge beyond a casual learner. Working with Ida and David, Elijah took a chance and auditioned for the University of Toronto Faculty of Music.
Elijah is a gifted mathematician and science learner, as well as a keep interest in psychology. In choosing to pursue music, Elijah is able to combine all his passions into one place. As music is so multi-faceted, Elijah is able to use his gifts to share a love and passion for music with his students. His Masters in Musicology focused on modern music and society, so he continues to learn more about music as it evolves in today’s modern musical landscape.
We at ToMA are honoured whenever students who learn with us decide to join our ranks. Of course, we know not every student who learns music will want to be a professional, but we hope stories like Elijah (and Milen, and Meredith…) demonstrate our commitment to fostering and nurturing music in everyone.
